Virtual Festival - WFH Fest
As work-from-home life continued into early 2021, we wanted to create a remote event that would provide free and accessible information for anyone seeking employment. We also wanted to reach people where they were the most during that time: Social media. We created WFH Fest, an online festival featuring career content across all of our social media platforms.
We interviewed over 60+ top tech, marketing, digital media and other industry professionals about their career stories and advice for young and recent gradutes pursuing their dream jobs. I created and designed a logo & brand identity, traditional festival lineup poster and custom website pages. I compiled and edited social media videos, video thumbnails & covers, and provided scripted questions based on their unique backgrounds and journeys.
Festival Stages
Like a traditional festival, we still had multiple stages! Unlike a traditional festival or conference, each stage had the same content from each interviewee, but in the format of the social channel. This way, followers on any channel were able to access each career story, and could be pointed to another way to experience the content on another platform (stage).
Instagram Stage - The Main Stage was on Instagram. Followers could catch the full length version of personoal video from founders, entrepreneurs and creators who shared their career journeys.
LinkedIn Stage - You could read in-depth articles featuring the stories behind each speaker. They got inspiration from founders and entrepreneurs, and read advice from current managers at their favorite leading companies.
TikTok Stage - Followers caught 60-sec highlights of each headliner and speaker, and were able to interact with professionals whose presence was heavier on this platform than the others.
Twitter Stage - We live tweeted each interview as it was posted to the main stage throughout the week in order to point followers to our content on other channels.
Personal Interview Format
We interviewed professionals to fill two major categories: Career Stories from Founders, Entrepreneurs and Creators, and Career Advice from current Managers and Directors at popular companies. We also included personal stories about overcoming difficulty and persevering through challenges. Below are select examples of video interviews!
A big reason we decided on this format was because of the work environment at the time: Everyone was used to talking to each other through the screen. Instead of a formal, sit-down interview, we opted to create videos that felt like you were on a personal call with each professional; something we encourage each client to do in our career programming as well.

Festival Lineup Poster
We interviewed professionals across industries and career paths to create a diverse lineup that covered each step of the career journey from beginner to expert. Our lineup debuted to a combined total of over 1.5M+ followers on the main stage alone.
On The Lawn
We created The Main Stage post at the top of IG grid where followers could check back and see who was speaking next. Each time we tagged the next speaker, a notification encouraged them to engage with our content, and make sure they wouldn’t miss their interview when it was posted.
We hired an illustrator to create a custom festival graphic that represented a handful of our more popular speakers across industries. We branded tote bags, tees and stickers with her unique design. A portion of the proceeds went to a charity of the artist’s choice.
I created a “Wellness Tent” that showcased products and services for wellness of the mind, body and planet. Each product was tagged to the account where followers could shop and engage with the products and brands.
The Art Tent
It was important to me to show working, professional artists and their process on our career platform. During Festival Week, followers could scroll through our IG post as if they were inside tent at a festival, and view the work of active, professional artists. Each piece was tagged, so when you clicked to visit the artists’ IG page, you could watch their studio tour or artist talk!
Above is the panoramic mock-up I posted to our IG page in three separate posts to create a “tent” on our post grid. I took the painted characters from our illustrator and placed them outside as if they were relaxing on the festival lawn. This creative leap allowed us to show characters enjoying the digital festival grounds and encourage interaction with our posts.
WFH Fest: When followers clicked the middle image, they were able to scroll into the entrance to the tent and click the tagged art inside. Each artist had the purple WFH logo in their IG highlights that led to a personal studio tour and artist talk.

WFH Space Tours
At the end of their interview, each speaker gave a tour of their WFH space. This tied each interview with the theme of the festival while also providing helpful tips to job candidates as they interviewed and worked from home.
